I’m Michelle Bjarnason, CPA, CMA. I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree (1998) from the University of Alberta. I completed my Certified Management Accountant (AB) designation in 2001 and then acquired my Chartered Professional Accountant (AB) designation in 2015.
I am a Management Accountant with a passion for helping the little guy. I joke that I use my knowledge for good versus evil and nothing makes me happier than when the numbers sing. My clients become like family to me. I believe accounting and the information it provides is one of many tools to use for businesses to thrive. Over the years, I’ve found not everyone loves accounting like I do. With my passion and tenacity, I’ve been able to I specialize in helping businesses getting back on track and stay there. Alternatively, many business owners feel that they need to focus on their business and not on their bookkeeping, and I wholeheartedly agree! That is why I am here. I have extensive experience and knowledge in taxes for employees and sole proprietors (T1 returns). I enjoy saving money for people whenever possible. I’m not just an Accountant. I am also a mom of two teenage girls, a wife and a community volunteer. Over the years I have sat on the committee for the Tri Area Festival of Trees; chairman of a playground committee raising $350,000 to build a new school playground; Treasurer of the school council; and most recently I was a member of Girl Guides of Canada for over six years in which I fundraised and accompanied two separate groups of girls on a trip to Europe to experience another side of the world.
I am an avid world traveler and an avid photographer, as you see from my photos at the bottom of each of my pages. I have many tips and tricks to see the world large on a shoestring budget. Check out my blog for these upcoming posts.
